I thought that it would be nice to take a moment and share my TTC Success Story.

I have been using your web site since I started actively trying to conceive in December of 2000.

I had a Tubal Ligation in September of 1993. A few years later my marriage ended and then I found love again and married again in 1997. My wonderful husband is a great father to my two little girls and I began to ache for another child.

After years of saving, scraping, and praying, I had a Tubal Reversal in November of 2000. I spent the next few months obsessing and worrying. I kept in close contact with my Doctor who suggested I try Clomid. It WORKED GREAT!!!Finally, in May 2001, on my first round of Clomid, I got Pregnant but had a miscarriage in June. Of course I was devastated. But I vowed to persevere.

The baby hopes were put on hold to give my body time to heal. I did another round of Clomid and again got pregnant the very first time. This time the pregnancy has been successful. We are expecting our third daughter in June 2002. We can't wait. It's the answer to all of my prayers. I still can't believe it's all real. Our ultrasounds show that she's growing wonderfully and everything looks great.

For those still hoping, I know it's hard, but try to have faith. Good things truly come to those who are patient.

Thanks for your web site and all the support I found there,
    MichelleA

Well, I had a baby back in April. A little boy, my pride and joy!

He's 9 1/2 months. Even though we conceived no problem, we knew it was God's hand because I usually ovulate about 3 times a year. So we decided to start ttc again when he was 4 months old. And of course, no O, even though I wasn't breastfeeding. I made an appt with a fertility specialist and he prescribed 5 days of provera and 5 days of serophene (same as clomid). On Dec 19, I started the provera. I began to bleed Dec 26th. I took the serophene on days 2 - 6.

I was temping and had kind of wonky temps before O. I had a small spike on day 10, so I went in for an ultrasound. The technician said that I had some free fluid in my left ovary so I might have O'd early but when I went back the next day the other follicles were still growing so no O yet. I went in for ultrasounds every day so they could see how things were progressing. It was really great because I knew EXACTLY when to bd!

I ovulated on day 16. Of course I was immediately impatient to find out if it worked! We had bd'd every day for a week, including the day after O! I felt normal, no symptoms except maybe a little tired and definitely LESS patient. I think MAYBE a couple of times, I felt a little queesy for a moment but it went away in two seconds. I bought a package of two tests (First Response - because it says as early as 3 days before AF). I tested on 10 dpo, first morning urine. NEGATIVE! Not even a trace!

Then tested 12 dpo, afternoon... and a faint line!!! WOOHOO! So I called the doctors office and they did bloodwork same day. Positive! I have to go in again tomorrow to make sure levels are rising. Symptoms so far, pretty much none. A little tired but nothing too noticeable! Thirsty... actually a little crampy sometimes especially if expecting a bowel movement (things are sensitive in there I guess), OH! And COLD at night! I need like 5 blankets! I'm sending some ++++++++++++++++++ vibes!!!!

    Rach God bless!!

    Rach God bless!!

I am blessed that it took me a relatively short time to conceive--4 months actively trying and 2 months off bcp's prior to that (with other protection.) I thought it would be just the opposite after 13 yrs on bcps.

I want to include as many things as I can here b/c I learned so much when other people did the same. I usually have no 'symptoms' before af so some of this was strange:

  • -bbs mildy sore on the nipples only
  • -not tired at all
  • -hungry every 2-3 hrs (the week before af, I am usually not hungry for much but still east 3 meals a day--just not famished)
  • -craved salty foods (not sugar which is my downfall)
  • -light nausea in late afternoon &right before bed
  • -very emotional (cried during my anniversary dinner over whether to buy a new bedspread or not!)
  • -twinges--sometimes painful but just short bursts here and there
  • -tons of creamy cm--I mean, I'm like a VOLCANO erupting!
  • -cramps were af strength but not the heaviness like af cramps--just some kind of movement

I had throbbing in the pelvic area for the last 3-4 days (like a vein was throbbing). This must have been the increased blood flow to the uterus...?

    About the 'deed' itself:
I have a tipped uterus, so I heard that doggie style (funny, since I'm Doggy Mom!) was better and I layed on my stomach after bd and fell asleep. Not sure if we actually DTD doggie sytle that night but I always prop up on a towel and fall asleep with my hips tilted (on my stomach--again for the tipped uterus.) There was a discussion right after I got on the board about DTD every day vs. every other day and I decided for dh's sake and mine, we would try the every-other-day thing since it was my first month charting and I had no idea when I was o'ing. It was much less of a 'routine' that way.

My temps went triphasic on 12dpo but I was still cautious since that could mean anything. But temp was 98.9 this AM (coverline is 98.1) so I tested with Aimstick at 14 dpo with FMU. The second line took more than a minute or so to appear. With Aimstick, that may be common...? The second line was lighter but thick, crisp and definately THERE (no holding up to the light or crossing my eyes to see it.) We did another Aimstick with the same FMU right away and got the same results.

Any questions??? Did I forget something? Oh yeah, this is our 5th anniversary weekend and my EDD is FIL's birthday!

    Doogy Mom

  • MammaKath,

I am a TTC member, and a success story.
I, like you, have lost several babies (3) all past 12 weeks,
2 years ago 2 years after a successful birth of my daughter,
I lost my third child, then I joined TTC and bought the book you suggested,
I tried the egg whites, the cough medicine,
and conceived after the first month and on
December 13, 2000 delivered a healthy baby boy.

    LisaC

My husband and I have been trying to conceive since January, 1999.

I had been on the pill for four years before that and thought at first it migh take us a while to conceive. We conceived for the first time in January, 2001, but were disappointed to find out that it was a molar pregnancy and would terminate.

After that discouragement we had to wait approximately 6 months before we could start trying again. We were very pleased to learn on November 5, 2001 that we would be parents.

I am now 14 weeks along and everything is going great. I've had all the normal pregnancy problems, morning sickness and so forth but it has been great.

Best of luck to those who are still trying and please keep me, my husband and our unborn child in your prayers that in July, 2002 we will have a healthy baby.

    Jen
