    Our success story?
I had my tubes tied 7 years ago after 2 wonderful children,
    never thinking I would divorce,
never thinking I would ever love anyone else.
I divorced my abusive husband 5 years ago.
The Lord put a wonderful man in my life 2 years ago,
we got married and I had my tubal reversed in August.
We have officially been trying to conceivefor 3 months
and we just found out this evening that WE'RE PREGNANT!
Your website was an extreme encouragement to me
and I am thankful for it!
    God bless,
    Julie in Florida
This story is to let everyone know that there is hope,
no matter what you are diagnosed with
and no matter what your prognosis is.
Also, I believe if your heart is right and
    you pray, pray, pray,
God will lead you down the path that is right for you.
I am 32 years old and have been married for almost ten years.
I have been off BCP for over seven years and never became pregnant.
We weren't too worried, because I was young,
but it was always in the back of my mind.
    About two years ago,
    we started ttc, timing intercourse.
    We saw an RE.
Sperm analysis and HSG and blood work all came back okay.
He recommended a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
We really didn't want to do it because
    I had no symptoms and
we were hestitant for me to undergo surgery/anesthesiology.
We prayed and prayed and prayed,
and I believe God turned our thinking around
and we went forward with the laparoscopy.
The laparoscopy was supposed to be less than an hour,
and the RE was expecting it to be normal.
Well, was I suprised when I woke up over three and a half hours later.
The RE found Stage IV endometriosis, adhesions, scar tissue,
chocolate cysts, the worst endo he could have found.
He lasered as much as he could, but had to stop
because there comes a point when the risks of lasering
the tissue around the reproductive organs outweighs the benefits.
I recovered from the sugery and during our post-op vistit,
he recommended Lupron, a hormone medication,
because he couldn't get all of the endo.
He showed us the pictures. Endo was everywhere.
He said he only recommends Lupron after a lap in the "worst" cases.
Thank God I had a good surgeon.
He said after the Lupron I would be a good candidate for IVF.

I was so discouraged and depressed by the diagnosis and
    how horrible the pictures were.
I felt like I would never get pregnant.
I cried and cried and cried.
We went home and prayed and thought about it
and decided we did not want to do the Lupron because of side effects,
loss of ttc time (it basically puts you in menopause for 6 to 8 months.)
We went for a consultation with all of my Lupron questions and concerns,
    and he explained everything.
We told him that we were leaning toward not doing it
and asked him if we could try three months of IUI with Clomid.
He did not believe I was a good candidate at this point
and really wanted us to do the Lupron,
but he said it was not "unreasonable to try the IU."
His statement was something to the effect of,
"Boy, you sure like to roll the dice."
I believe from his responses and
demeanor he did not think I would get pregnant.
But he did say, "Stranger things have happened,"
    and we might get "lucky."
I told him I did not believe in luck.
Well, to make a long story (sorry) short,
I did one IUI with Clomid and it failed.
    I prayed and prayed.
I remember one particular Sunday after the failed IUI,
I went up to the altar and told God,
I trust him, I will leave it in his hands,
I was leaving the whole thing right there on the altar
and giving it to him, whether I will become pregnant or not.
In the meantime, we also made an appointment for February 21
to attend a Christian adoption seminar.
Well, my second IUI took place on January 30th.
    Here is what I did:
Starting on the first week of my cycle, (I think day 8)
I took Robitussin three times a day,
Evening Primrose oil three times a day,
a baby aspirin once a day, and, of course,
my prenatal vitamins. I avoided caffeine and wine.
When we went for the IUI,
they detected white blood cells in my dh's sperm
(due to an infection, very common)
and they had to perform a swim-up.
This lowered the sperm count to only 20 million.
Normally his is in the 40 million range.
    This was not encouraging.
BUT, when we went back for the insemination,
the nurse said that I had ovulated really well and had a lot of CM.
I had two mature follicles and one borderline follicle.
Well, during the 2ww, I really didn't have a lot of symptoms.
The main ones I remember are really bad gas (cramping)
at about 9dpo and continuing to this day.
My breasts were sort of sore.
    I was very tired.
I was also constipated (sorry) and had hemrhoids (sorry again.)
I felt like my period was coming.
I did not think I was pregnant.
    I had no m/s.
Well, on 13dpo, I begged my dh to take a PT.
(He doesn't like me to get my hopes up and then see a negative.)
But guess what? We got the faintest line ever.
I have never, never even gotten the faintest line on a PT test in the last 7 years.
I was so excited. He was trying to stay calm.
He did not want me to get too excited because it was too light.
We decided to test again the next morning.
Well, I couldn't sleep all night,
and I wouldn't pee because I wanted to keep all of that HCG in my bladder
so I could make a darker line. :)
Well, finally, at a sensible time, (6:45 a.m.)
I took another test and the line was a little darker.
That afternoon, I tried a different brand of test and got a really dark line.
    I couldn't believe it!!!
I am waiting on the results from my RE's beta test.
    And just for good measure,
I took another test during the weekend wait and got another positve.
I love seeing that line come up!!!!
Well, at this point, we are just busy thanking God and in awe
that a situation which seemed so dismal might actually have a happy ending.
I give all the credit to God and the family members
and friends who are/were praying for us.
We are still hoping and praying for a healthy pregnancy.
I am trying to stay strong to the commitment that I made to God
that day at the altar to, "Turn it all over to him,"
    and I'm trusting that I won't miscarry.
But if I do, we will try again.
And, oh, yeah, we are still going to the adoption seminar next week.
Anyways, for all of you, I have been where you are and felt depressed and hopeless.
Please hang in there and believe that God has a plan for you.
It may not be the same timetable as yours or
he may not answer your prayers in the way you want him to,
but he does love and care for each one of us and
wants to give us the desires of our hearts.
I am hoping for the best for each and every one of you.

    We tried for over a year, I was on clomid (cd5-9) at 50, 100, & 150...NOTHING!
Then my endocrine doctor put me on Glucophage
(this is a drug for diabetics, which I am not).
Some how, this drug is shown to help women with polycystic ovarian syndrome to ovulate!
I was never actually diagnosed with this syndrome (done by U/S or LAP),
but just according to my symptoms, the doctor tried it.
I was to take 500mg of Glucophage XR (sustained release)once a day until pregnant.
I took it for two days and ovulated! (just used OTC ovulation tests).
We got pg, but it turned out to be tubal-YIKES!
Thankfully (sort of) they were able to induce a miscarriage
so that I had no rupture or further complications.
Once we were allowed to try again, we did clomid and glucophage,
but it didn't seem to be working.
Then I saw my endo again.
He doubled the dose, and 2 days and BAM!
(this was a good 2 weeks or so after the clomid,
so I don't really think the clomid mattered, it was all about the Gluc!).
I was pg, had my baby- 10 wks early!! (as if all the trying wasn't enough!).
My son is about to be 14 months old and he is perfectly healthy!
We are now trying again. I was at my OB today.
She said, well if you're taking the Gluc, you don't need to take the clomid!
(cool, cuz Gluc doesn't have hot flashes!)
You just have to be careful about your sugar counts
-be sure you get this from a doctor who checks your levels and gives
you a list of all the signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia),
as this could be a very SERIOUS health risk.
If everything checks out, this is actually a very 'easy' drug to take-at least, it was for me.
Best of luck to everyone-I hope I helped!

As long as I can remember I have always had irregular periods.
I got married october/19/02. We decided that we would try to have kids in Febuary.
I went to my gyno and since I was not ovulating at all, she put me on provera and clomid 50 mg.
The first two months, it didn't work! I was sooo depressed, I thought that I would never have children.
I just finished my third month and I am two days late for my period and 16 dpo so,
I decided to take a pregnancy test for the hell of it. I knew that I would get a negative result-
I always did and I was sick of looking at it! But would'nt you know.....it was positive!!!
I almost fell off the toilet! I cried for about an hour! I could'nt believe it
so I went out and got another one and it was positive too!
I have an app. with my gyno in a few days to confirm 100% that I am pregnant.
Don't EVER give up hope ladies because,
if it can happen to me and my clutsy body,
then it can happen to you!
    God bless.

    Finally!
    I'm pregnant! 14 weeks today,
I've been very ill with hyperemisis and
hospitalised twice in the past 6 weeks but baby is fine!

Thanks to IVF we are due on the 14th November which is DHs 35th Birthday!
We are all very excited and cannot wait to
see the little one on ultrasound on 20th June!
    *************** dustings to all ******************

    Hi Momma Kath
I have just found out I am pregnant after the first round of Clomid at 50mg
I was so happy and surprised the information you have is really great...
My estimated due date is Jan 20, 2004. Wish me luck.
    Bye for now Karen

just wanted to say that i never had a normal menstral cycle
and i thought i would never get pregnant.
i went for years having sex and never getting pregnant.
i took clomid for just one cycle and boom - i was pregnant.
After my baby was born and after my 6 weeks checkup
I had sex with my husband without any birth control methods
because i still felt i wouldn't be able to conceive without fertility pills.
wrong- i was pregnant again. And 10 months later, i had another baby!!
so my one dose of clomid seemed to work for not just one baby,
but 2!!! best of luck to everyone- if it happened to my irregular system,
    it can happen to anyone!
