    Hi!
Its been awhile since I emailed you
just wanted to let you know that
we are Pregnant we just found out last Thursday
    expected due date April 10
after one month of false unicorn root
    we are expecting &
I wanted to say thank you for all the advice.
    Thanks, Jamie, Dan & BABY

I have been married for a bit over 3 years now.
My husband and I were basically trying from day one.
Or shall I say we just never used any type of birthcontrol.
Well one year went by and no baby and no periods.
I was driving myself crazy thinking that I was pregnant
because I didnt have any periods.
The doctors were not even willing to help me.
    All they kept saying was,
you are too young to have a baby,
let me put you on some birth control pills.
    Thats what you need.
I would never accept that response.
They basically harrassed me and tried to make me go the pill,
    but I never would.
So the 2nd year comes around and still no baby and no period.
I finally got a doctor with some sense.
He did an ultrasound and some bloodwork and saw that I had PCOS.
So he started me on clomid. 50 mg of clomid and still no baby.
I tried herbs after this and I ovulated but still no baby.
So here comes our 3rd year into marriage
and still no baby and still no periods.
I found the best doctor in the world.
She gave me some clomid to try,
but she also made me get an hsg to see if my tubes were blocked.
I went ahead and took the clomid before the hsg
trying to be positive about the whole situation.
I finally got the hsg back and what a nightmare.
Both of my tubes were blocked.
I cried and cried day and night.
So my husband and I went to the doctor and she said that I had to have surgery.
I went in for surgery about 2 weeks later and everything went well,
she unblocked my tubes and did an hsg and they were completely open.
    Here comes the good part.
About 4 days after the surgery,
I was feeling kind of strange and tired.
I though that maybe the anastesia from the surgery
had not completely worn off yet.
But something deep within was telling me to take a pregnancy test.
So I got up and took the test and guess what???!!!!!!!
    Positive right away.
I could not believe it so I took another one and positive again.
I freaked out I was so nervous.
I went to the doctor and they said congratulations.
    You are pregnant.
    I GOT PREGNANT BEFORE THE
    SURGERY WITH 2 BLOCKED TUBES!!!!!!!!!!
So I just want everybody to know,
never give up and just give it to God
because he is the creator of babies not the doctors.
I got pregnant when I least expected it
and when I thought that I never could have
    with 2 blocked tubes.
I am 7 weeks now and everything is fine.
I saw the baby's heartbeat for the first time last week.
It is amazing. So everybody just keep your head up.
I am a living testimony that it will happen.
    Kristy

I have been visiting this website for some time now,
especially every month when my period would come.
I never posted anything, but I found great comfort in
reading the success stories hoping that one day
I would be able to write one..
well low and behold, that day has come.

I started trying when I was 30 years old,
had a normal 28 day cycIe and had been trying for almost 18 months.
I had all the tests done and passed them all with flying colors.
Finally, the last test I had was the post coital test.
The result was that my husband's sperm was
not surviving long enough inside of me
and the doctor suggested that I try insemination.
I was not prepared to do anything drastic until
I was at least 35 so I already put in my mind that I would wait
for another few years until considering that.
Anyway, 2 weeks after the post coital test,
I was late for my period.
I went in for a blood test and I was pregnant!
I went back 2 days later for another blood test to
make sure the numbers were doubling
    and they more than quadrupled!
Needless to say, I am 14 weeks pregnant
    with fraternal twins NATURALLY.

    My symptoms:

  • 2 DPO extremely sore boobs (which I still have now),
  • 7 DPO some cramping and creamy CM,
  • 8DPO terrible heartburn (which I still have now),
  • loss of appetite and slight nausea (which I still have now).
The doctor said these symptoms should subside after the 1st trimester,
but I am 14 weeks and they are still here..
    it's all worth it!

    My advice to everyone is:
Don't be overly anxious to get medical intervention
because as you can see, doctors are not always right
and you may put yourself through lots of poking and prodding for nothing.
Sometimes it just takes longer for some people.
    Good luck to everyone!

I truly cannot believe that this is me writing this I was on the last month
of a 3 year struggle. I say last month because I decided that I would end by
fertility quest after this cycle and lo and behold I did!!!!!! I became
pregnant ! with my 5th iui with injectables and male factor, for those interested I
did post about mf on that board. We used proxeed which I think really helped.

As far as temps and symptoms I did find that on day 5 my temp dropped to an
amazing 97.6 (my coverline was 97.9) and than on day 6 it was 98.6 and stayed
triphasic the rest of the time until I got the positives.......
    Beta today was 82!!!!!!!!

I really did not have symptoms other than some weird hunger cravings...I
started getting faint positives with early first response on day 9 post iui, yes,
I know that is early but I was a desperate women.

On a personal level I changed as a result of this infertility. I sought my
Lord daily and worked out spiritual issues that I feel made me more peaceful.
My story is a miracle, they really never thought the iuis would work and
wanted me in ivf, I fought that because something inside told me not to do it, it
wasn't right for me. My husband and I are both 38. We have a 11 year old ds.
Our family is so happy. All the glory to my Lord Jesus Chrsit for the great
things that He has done. He is always with us in this struggle. If it can
happen to me, it can happen to you too!!!

My husband and I are ttc for one year.
I went to the doctor and she prescribed me clomid 50mg and
I got pregnant on the next month I took it.
I think it was also with the help of taking vitamins which is folic acid
    and evening oil primerose.
I took it together with the clomid and
keep taking it until I realized I was pregnant.
I was so happy now and I could'nt believe that I was pregnant.

I'm a tad scared to write this at 6 weeks PG,
but am excited to share my adventure to pregnancy.
I'm 27, and have wanted a child for about a year.
In July 2002, I got my last period due to stress
    and losing too much weight,
and tried everything to get it back.
After going off alcohol, caffeine, and
    overly sugary foods completely,
    I did pilates, reflexology,
took many vitamin and mineral supplements,
    licorice tea, and Vitex.
Finally in April 2003 my Period was back.
A couple days before AF came,
I had gone to a RE who wanted me to do Provera,
    then Clomid after.
I really didn't want to take any drugs,
wanted to go about things as naturally as possible,
    so thankfully AF came, and
I never even used the Provera I had just bought.
Well, we tried for all of April and May, and nothing.
Then June I went back home to Canada
(I live in Australia with DH),
so DH and I were apart for over a month.
He had business in England for the month of July,
which I went along with him,
    so we could try again-nothing.
July 29th I got AF and was soo sad.
I had been not drinking any alcohol or coffee
since Feb 2003 and was wondering why I was bothering.
Then it happened in August. We flew bak to Australia around O time,
so I don't know if we conceived in Canada or here,
    but on August 31st I took a 2nd HPT
(I always have to hide them from DH),
and it came up + in a minute.
I was on CD 33 and I think 18 dpo.
I was elated... thank you God Jehovah.
I was walking along the beach to breakfast with DH
and asked him what he thought of
    being a father in May.
He said not to think about it,
so I told him he was going to be a father I was PG,
    and he wouldn't believe me!
Finally he did and was just as happy as me.
I'm now 6 weeks, had my beta done about a week ago
    and was 249.

  • Paula, TTC #1, 33

The passage below was written on 5/19/03.
As of 9/9/03, baby and I are doing fine and now in the home stretch.
Wanted to share my story so others can find the same hope I did
    in reading about successes.

Just got back from the ob/gyn today and
saw our little one wiggling around on the ultrasound!
11 weeks 2 days. Everything looks great!
I went off the pill in October of 2000 at age 31 with intentions that we'd
really start trying in the New Year 2001. I started charting my temperature
right away and devoured "Taking Control of Your Fertility."
I had wanted to by a mommy since I was in college!
My first breakdown was about March when we weren't't pregnant yet.
We'd been married 7 years and I quietly built a career
while nesting away savings, waiting for DH to come around.
It was very hard for me to deal with the fact that this is something
you just can't put in the planner and make happen!
I knew I'd have to wait at least a year before the doctors would help us along.

Through charting, I realized I had CM issues - I tried lots of water,
vitamins, herbs, carrots, egg whites, astroglide,
nothing seemed to work for me.
My cycles were also doing weird things,
which could have been due to coming off bcp and
the stress of traveling for work.

In January 2002, I made an appointment with an RE
and would finally get into their office for the first time in May.
Fortunately, DH and I took advantage of great CM (surprise)
in April and I cancelled the RE appointment because I was pregnant!
    I was sure we were pregnant with twins because my CM was so great;
it was like there was something "extra" happening that month.

First trimester progressed normally with off/on symptoms of morning sickness,
tiredness, and sore bbs. I heard heartbeat at 8 weeks and was thrilled,
it looked like this was it!
Symptoms quieted down around 9-10 weeks,
which I read could be normal.
I had a small brown spotting on June 10th (our anniversary)
but it was so small and just 1 episode that I didn't worry.
Unfortunately, our 11-week appointment (June 20th) showed no heartbeat.
U/S later informed us that it was twins but both died at around 8 weeks
a day after I heard the heartbeat. I had no idea!
It was a horrible way to find out it was twins (and confirm my suspicions),
I felt so bad for DH.
It was also hard for me since I am an identical twin.
I had D/C the next day.
We decided to give ourselves a couple of months
to recover and then try TTC again.

The fall came and still CM issues, cycles were shorter (thank goodness)
    and more regular.
In November, I decided to make the appointment with RE again,
this time getting started in January.
The timing worked out great as I was just starting AF,
we got in all the diagnostic tests that month: U/S, HSG,
    sperm analysis, post-coital, progesterone, etc.
RE determine I had high DHEA-S level and would like
to see a stronger ovulation, DH had opportunities for
improvement in motility (no fast swimmers) and morphology.
I was prescribed low dose Dexamethasone to help
improve egg quality and clomid to ensure good egg production.
IUI was our ticket since I was providing no
    transportation method for the "troops."
Our first IUI was scheduled for Feb 15th and it went great,
doc was very pleased in improvement of DH's sample.
(DH cut down on hot tub, alcohol).
The troops got a free ride and I asked God to help with the rest.

Sure enough 2 weeks later, the temps looked great and at 13 dpiui
we were confirmed pregnant! Beta climbed as it should in early stages.
I felt great just sore bbs.
Which got slightly larger during weeks 5-6.
Nausea crept in around 6 wks and got worse through week 9 then tapered off.
RE did u/s at 6 weeks and gave great prognosis of 98% to live birth!
I heard heartbeat at 9 weeks (I'm very petite).
We told all the families in the last week (wks 10-11) and
just had a great visit with Ob/Gyn today.
U/S showed our growing baby with 150 bpm heartbeat!
After 2 years, our dream of starting a family is finally coming true!

Thanks to everyone on this website who provided support and
insight even when they didn't know it!

    Paula, age 33, baby #1 due 11/7/03.

    Hello,
I am so excited typing this email. My DH and I have
been trying to conceive for a year without any
success. My regular doctor had me monitoring my BBT
every morning & that was not working for me...some
mornings I'd forget or I didn't write it down anyway
after keeping up with it for 2 1/2 months I lost my
calendar with all the temps! I could have died all
that work was gone & I just knew she would want me to
start all over again from scratch. I made an appt.
with my GYN in June '03 to begin infertility
treatments, they did all sorts of tests & ultrasounds
to determine if I was ovulating..blah blah blah & I
was I was passing every test left & right...but no
little one. I have a great GYN, he's even handsome so
you don't really mind him taking a peek. ;-) In July
my GYN wrote me a prescription for 50mg of Clomid
which I took on days 4-8 of my cycle, on day 14 I went
into his office to get an HCG shot, on day 15 DH went
to a sperm lab & had his sperm washed, I left work
early picked up the sperm at 3:05 & was on my way to
my dr.'s office to be inseminated. While I was
driving to the dr's office I couldn't believe I was
having to go through all of this, when you're a teen
(late teen) & into your 20s you're so careful not to
get pregnant & here I am at 29, a happily married
women, with the house with the white picket fence, two
dogs, and a bird & I'm having to be artificially
inseminated. Whew! Well, long story short I had the
sperm implanted, wasn't too uncomfortable a little
cramping. My dr. asked me not to get my hopes up,
there was only a 20% chance that it would work the
first time. I told him I wouldn't and walked out the
door & literally tried to forget what was had
happened. When DH would ask how I felt or if I got AF
I just shhh'd him & kept getting up. When it was time
for AF I had my usual cramps & thought to myself, darn
it didn't work. But I kept doing my regular routines
without thinking too much about it. Then I had missed
my period...I am always on schedule, I felt cramping
still & my breast were very sore, but thought maybe
the clomid, HCG shot & IUI had some how messed up my
system somehow & AF would soon be on the way. I
waited til I was 5 days late & took a pregancy test &
    it was positive...still I couldn't believe it so I
took a 2nd test a few days later ...still positive.
I called my dr. and scheduled an appt for 2 wks later,
by the way my husband is going crazy at this point. I
had my first OB visit on 9/9/03 and it was confirmed
that I was 7 wks pregnant. I started crying right
there in the dr's office. I was so excited when I got
a little tote bag filled with goodies on expecting a
baby. I had seen so many women walk out of the office
with those bags & me wondering if I'd ever get one.
Now I'm occupying a lot of my time on baby websites,
picking out cribs etc, we are thrilled! Well that's my
story. I'm sorry it was so long. Ladies please keep
on trying & don't give up!
    Thank you,
    Edna

    41 years old and pregnant!!
    To all who are trying!
I hope my story gives you all the hope you certainly need!
I am 41 years old and pregnant with my third child.
I definately wanted a 3rd, hubby did not,
and I read so many discouraging things
    about conceiving at my age,
that I sort of gave up on the notion .
    Well guess what?
We weren't even really trying and it happened!!
    So do not give up!

Your website has been invaluable to me.
I found your site about a month ago.
After 9 months of TTC #2, I finally got PG!
I took Red raspberry, EPO and FSO,
also baby asprin and ate lots of carrots.
I started spotting when AF was due.
I thought it was starting, then I had nothing for 2 days, except sore BBS.
Started bleeding a little bit, then it stopped shortly after.
I took a HPT the next morning. It was a light positive.
I called the DR. with anticipation as to whether this one would stick.
I had a beta done the first time and it was 65, just got the results
from the second one and HCG was 141.
    I can finally smile!
I will do a follow up beta on Mon, just to be thorough.
I know I have a long road ahead of me.
Thank you for this wonderful site.
I thought all hope was lost until I found it.
