+++++++++++++++++++++++ Thanks for your support during those trying months of TTC. I found out I was pregnant a couple weeks ago. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and began TTC for almost a year. In January of 06, i I tried 50mg of clomid and my day 23 progesterone result came at a very dissappointing 0.73...In February, after doing clomid on days 5-9 and uping the dosage to 100, I went for my day 23 progesterone test and the results came out to a 7.1. My ob/gyn told me that I was annovulatory and sent me to a RE. A week later, I am at the RE and she is telling me about the injections, and all the pills I would be popping, but it was CD 39 and I had no period so I asked her to just give me a PG test before we went thru all the meds. Well, to my surprise, it comes out POSITIVE! I never would have thought that I would have a positive pregnancy test. I hoped for the best, expected the worst, and got the best results! I am now 7 weeks pregnant, and all my -- In +++++++++++++++++++++++ May 10, 2006 Hello Momma Kath, I am so thrilled to say that after trying for 4 months with no success, I tried Herbs for Her #3 for 1 cycle and on yesterday I got a +++++ blood test from the doctor. Thank you so much for being concerned and caring enough to help assist those who are ttc. Tee +++++++++++++++++++++++ Tuesday, May 2, 2006 Dear Momma Kath, I am thrilled to share my exciting news...This was my first month on No. 2 Herbs for Her for Clomid users and after 10 months of trying to conceive, 5 cycles with Clomid, and 2 IUIs, I am pregnant! Thank you so much for your help and for the support that your website provides. Diana +++++++++++++++++++++++ April 25, 2006 Hi Momma Kath I just want to thank you for your website.... the information are useful. I also want to share my story. I'm 31 and was diagnosed with PCOS 3 months ago. I went for the scan and they found with cysts on my right ovaries. I was terrified and confused and thought I was not able to conceive again. I have a 2 1/2 year old girl and was looking forward to have another baby soon. My doctor immediately put me on 500gm Metformin twice a day and referred me to the Fertility Clinic. I was on Metformin for 3 weeks, changed my diet, exercised, took multi vitamins, EPO, FSO, vitex and progesterone cream. I also managed to lose 4kg! By the end of the 3rd week, my period still haven't arrived (was due around that time). I was getting really worried and thought the medication was not working. Pregnancy at that time was the last thing in my mind coz I just want to get physically better. Eventually I bought a pregnancy kit....it showed 2 lines :) I was in shock....I stood in the bathroom for a long time. Still in disbelief....I went to the doctor and did another test. The doctor confirmed my pregnancy and that I was 7 weeks along. The baby is due in November. I hope my story will inspire other ladies with PCOS. Nora +++++++++++++++++++++++ April 12, 2006 Thank you for your site! I have learned so much from your site in the last 2 months. Thank you for turning me on to the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. It has been a tremendous help along with all of the other tips that I learned from the success stories here on your site. Last month I really started getting serious about TTC and stopped eating chocolate, started taking a baby aspirin/day, drinking green tea and taking Vitex 2-3 times/day. This was also my 2nd month of using the Clear Blue Easy fertility monitor. I have never had a regular period so the monitor answered my question of when I ovulated. I also started taking my waking temperature every morning and paying attention to cervical fluid. That told me alot as well. The book TCOYF answered all my questions on temping and cervical fluid. Ladies - If you haven't read this easy-to-read book then pick it up from your local library like I did and you will learn so much. On cycle day 17 I got my LH Peak from my monitor. That same evening I felt cramping in the area of my left ovary. I was ovulating! I am sure I had felt that before but I just never knew that was it. Besides BD the 2 days before my peak we also BD the night I felt the ovulation cramping as well as the next night. I was a little disappointed when I felt the ovulation cramping on the left side that night because I only have one fallopian tube and it's on the right side. Thank fully Some how that left ovary egg found it's way over to my right tube. On 7 dpo I felt cramping in the middle area for a couple of hours. (My temp didn't go triphasic until 10 dpo.) On 9 dpo I started testing. I had a bunch of the cheap test strips so I decided to start using them early. 9 dpo the test was negative. 10 dpo the test was very very very faint positive. On 11 dpo I confirmed a positive at the doctors office. My earliest signs of pregnancy were constipation - right around the time of implantation, and nips that were tender off and on. I never did have implant spotting. Again, thank you for your site - you are a Blessing, I don't think I would be pregnant with my little Blessing without all of the info on your site! Julie +++++++++++++++++++++++ Saturday, April 8, 2006 Thank you!!! Success story! Dear Momma Kath, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your herbs with me and DH. I've never ever been pregnant. DH and I are thrilled. I am 5weeks and 1day. Hope it sticks. Here's my journey: Went off BC in October 2005. Did not actively try in November as I was first going to chart to see if I was even ovulating. I ovulated in Nov05 Dec05 Jan.06 and Feb06. By December I had noticed some eggwhite mucus but for only one day. I ended up not getting any eggwhite in Jan. but had it in Feb. again. Beginning with the December cycle I started taking EPO. Had globs of it in February. Started taking flax seed oil after O in the february cycle. Took a multi-vitamin too with extra folic acid the whole time. Here are my symptoms: Thanks Momma Kath for having this site. It has helped me tremendously! Jen +++++++++++++++++++++++ Monday, March 06, 2006 2:04 PM I am SO excited. Hi Momma Kath, I have been coming to your website for 5 years... My husband and I have been together for 10 years...we've never used any type of protection (he was my first)...I never been pregnant...and was told I had PCOS from 2 diff GYN's and that my ovaries were small compared to normal size ovaries..my dr now told me i didnt fit the description of someone with pcos at all and he thought that my periods i was getting 4-5 x's a year was due to hormone imbalance. He also said i would need fertitlity treatments to have children. My husband and defininitly were not ready to go that route at all. We felt it would happen in the Lord's timing...so month after month..year after year (when your periods are irregular you never know when your ovulating) i took preg tests always no no no. My husband and I were starting to separate...we weren't getting along very well...10 years together you start wanting more in your relationship... we prayed and in our hearts wanted to stay together and work things out and adopt if we had to..or possibly go through fertitlity. We trusted in the Lord in our marriage and ....the last week of Januarary I was getting pretty bad cramps like my period would come but nothing happened...day after day... i thought possible i had a cyst again and called my GYN...i gave the nurse my symptoms and she said might be a cyst as well and to come in...before i went i picked up another pt and said Lord either way false or positive (its always been false!) im going to need you to be there with me... this was on my lunch at work... i went home took the test and within a few seconds literally a big plus showed up. Of course im in disbelief and run to the phone to call my husband who didnt believe it and said to leave the test in the bathrooom for him to see it. my pregnancy symptoms (i always loved reading your girls to see if i had the same) i just went in this past tuesday to hear the heartbeat! omgosh! amazing! i still can not believe im pregnant! still! i mean 10 years and its like woah! but i believe 100% the Lord had his hand in this completely. we've seen an ultrsound at 6 weeks too :) im sooo happy and give so much praise to the Lord I do get nervous a lot of what to expect and just still in disbelief Praise the Lord and ladies ...pray...its always in the Lord's timing..seriously...as in my case...i just prayed and believed that one day it would happen. we have these motherly feelings for a reason! remember that! God Bless Angel +++++++++++++++++++++++ March 07, 2006 Still in shock! I have to say first off that this is a great web site, not only for support, but to figure out if your own symptoms match those of hundreds of other women in the same boat! That is what happened to me. My DH and I have been trying for about 6 months, and I am still today surprised that I got preggo due to my VERY irregular cycles in the past. I would easily skip months of seeing AF. When I finally tracked my cycle seriously, I found out I ovulated very late in the cycle, day 24-30, and some months not at all. I decided to take the matter into my own hands after doing TONS of research on the effects of a good diet and herbs. I now am convinced that my preconception care made all the difference. 3 months before I got pregnant, I started a moderate 3-4 day a week aerobics\jogging routine to get more physically fit. (Wasnt overweight, just a little chunky J) I also started eating tons of fruits and raw vegetables. I juiced fresh celery, carrot, beet, and parsley juice about every other day. I a lso took a quality prenatal vitamin and several herbs: vitex, red raspberry leaf, evening primrose oil tabs, salmon oil tabs, wild yam and green tea. The first month of doing this, I ovulated just fine, although late (day 30). The second month I ovulated on day 26 and had AF exactly on day 40. The third month I ovulated on day 21 or 22 and this is the month I got pregnant!! We are so thrilled and in shock. This is our first baby. I am 30 and my DH is 32. I hope this helps anyone out there who is struggling to know what to do to increase their chances. I cant say it will work for everyone, but I am thrilled with the results. Right now I am in my 6th week and the nausea is just beginning! What clued me in that I might be pregnant was sore boobs the day after I ovulated, which never happens to me, and slight twinges in my left breast. I also had very mild indigestion after eating, which is rare for me too. Seems like your body always gives you clues! Wish the best to everyone!!! Kara +++++++++++++++++++++++ March 4, 2005 Momma Kath, thank you so much for this website. The stories have been wonderfully heartening and encouraging and I'm sure the positive energy helped put me in the right frame of mind to get pregnant. I'm 37 and my husband's 38 and unfortunately suffering from recurring bladder cancer. When he was diagnosed last fall, mortality suddenly seemed to stare us in the face. That was when my desire to have his child really began; before that, I was pretty laissez-faire about it. He's the love of my life and my darkest fear was (and still is) that he won't live to a ripe old age with me - creating a beautiful human being seems a more powerful legacy than a photo album, if you know what I mean. When my husband's cancer came back in December, we stopped using birth control, but given his surgeries and chemical treatments, our ages, etc., I really thought it would take a small miracle for me to get pregnant (especially as I wasn't willing to pursue it beyond charting and natural methods). As I didn't want to kill the romance and what has always been a healthy, happy sex life with "timed" intercourse, mandatory positions, etc., I started charting to learn my cycles (and am still somewhat chagrinned by how little I knew about my own body) but I didn't make a big deal out of it or anything. In fact, our sex life pretty much revolved around my husband's immunotherapy treatments, not my ovulation. Well, I'm delighted to say that our celebratory, end-of-chemo sex happened to coincide with my cycle and I conceived in early February (found out on Valentine's Day) and I'm now six and a half weeks along. Early days yet, of course, and fears of miscarriage loom large (I've had a bit of spotting now and then), but I'm trying to enjoy the journey. Unfortunately, my husband has yet another tumor, so we're still concentrating on getting him cancer-free. Because I have found the postings detailing early symptoms and temperature charts so encouraging and helpful (especially as my post-O temps are low and typically dip towards or under the coverline), I'll post mine here. I've only been charting for three months and my luteal phases haven't been particularly consistent. I was concerned that I suffered from a luteal phase defect but further research (and one doctor's reasoning for why LPD is suspect) now make me question this theory. Follicular Phase: Luteal Phase: As far as symptoms, as of a week past ovulation, I didn't really have any other than a huge appetite (normal for me before my period) and insomnia, with middle-of-the-night trips to the bathroom (very unusual for me - I was up every night at 2:30 in the morning and then every hour after that). About two weeks past ovulation, I got a touch of nausea and one day of really sore breasts (they just sort of ached), both of which went away only to return with a vengeance about a week and a half later. They've pretty much stayed with me since, although it does seem to come in waves, with mornings being the worst. Lots of pale yellowish discharge lately, too. And as I mentioned above, I have spotted tiny amounts of blood about three times now. It always freaks me out but the doctor said everything looks okay. Anyway, all of my best wishes go out to all of you trying to make life. Keep the faith. Jen +++++++++++++++++++++++ March 02, 2006 Hello Momma Kath, I purchased the Herbs for Her from you a few months back and just recently some early pregnancy tests. Well, I just got my BFP this week. I had 2 miscarriages (and D & C's) last year supposedly due to chromasonal disorders. They told me that I have no reason to not have a healthy pregnancy the next time that I just fell into a couple of real bad luck situations. Thanks for all your help and your time. :) Thank you also for always sending the products I purchase so promptly, they are wonderful! Have a good day, Robin +++++++++++++++++++++++ March 02, 2006 To: mommakath@tryingtoconceive.com Subject: success story Hi, thanks for this wonderful website. Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and I just wanted to take the time to post my success story because I remember how much hope it gave me to read what others have gone through. My husband and I decided to start trying to conceive in November 2004. I went off the pill and I never got a period. My Dr. kept telling me this is normal and to just wait a few months. Finally she gave me Provera to bring on my period. It didn't work or did the other meds she gave me to bring on my period. She kept telling me to just wait. I even took the advice of my local health food store and tried some False Unicorn Root and some other fertility supplements. I tried some many of the things I read about and I did tons of research. I still wasn't getting my period and nothing seemed to be helping. My Dr. even stopped returning my phone calls. I switched to another Dr. who sent me right to the fertility specialist. This was what we needed, and she worked fast. We never really figured out why I wasn't getting a period, but that was easily taken care of by the fertility meds. We also found out that my husband had only 3% healthy sperm and our best chances of conception were through IVF/ICSI.
Our insurance didn't cover it, but we knew we had to try. It worked and I was pregnant a few weeks later. Unfortunately, shortly after we got the positive test, my HCG started to fall and we lost the pregnancy. We were totally heartbroken and didn't think we could afford another try. I was looking into foster adoption, but I talked to my husband and said that I really wanted to give it one more try. We borrowed some money from our parents and have really cut back on our budget. Luckily, our second try was successful and it is the greatest miracle. I am still paranoid, that something will go wrong, but so far our baby girl is healthy. My husband has been wonderful through all of this (He even got pretty good at giving me my IVF injections) and we have been blessed with very supportive family and friends. I pray every day that my baby will be well. I also pray for everyone that is going through this.
